| Anton Ashbeck was born April 1848 at Eisenstein, Austria. He
was orphaned at about six years of age. He had three brothers, Michael, Peter
and Johann (John). He also had one sister, name unknown. Michael and Peter and
the sister remained in Austria. Anton and Karoline Wallner were married in Austria. Karoline was born May 24,1853. Anton served in the Austrian army and made a living as a professional musician. Anton and Karoline immigrated to the United States in 1879. They brought along their four oldest children: Michael, Anton, Louis and Caroline. They settled in Wood County, farming at Auburndale, Wisconsin. They had five more children: Mary, Frank, Anna, William and Peter. |
